Highmark Foundation President
Yvonne Cook is president of the Highmark Foundation and responsible for management and direction of the Foundation. For more than 30 years, Ms. Cook has volunteered her time and expertise by serving on many boards and committees. Ms. Cook has received numerous awards for service to the community including the leadership award in the area of Business & Industry by the YWCA of Greater Pittsburgh. She serves on the Board of Directors of Women for a Healthy Environment.

Mayor Ed Gainey grew up in East Liberty and saw firsthand the economic hardships many families face in our city. Raised by a single mother, he counted on the support of his extended family and community to build a pathway to high school and college. Inspired to do the same for others, Ed Gainey discovered in college that an effective government could be a powerful tool to fight injustice and uplift communities.

President of Florence-Darlington Technical College
Dr. Jermaine Ford is a visionary leader with the ability to influence concepts and practices by employing both logical and theoretical approaches. He is a first-generation community college graduate, currently serving as President of Florence-Darlington Technical College (FDTC).

Pittsburgh Technical College to Host Public Installation of President Dr. Alicia Harvey-Smith
Dr. Harvey-Smith was appointed as PTC’s fourth president/CEO in July 2019 and is the first African American President in the college’s 75-year history. She is also the first President to lead PTC as a non Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) and non-profit.
