Teaching Cultural Diversity to students is a highlight for me in many ways. I learn so much from students and feel privileged to have the opportunity to share my passion and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging and accessibility (DEIBA). I want to congratulate (list their names), all Culinary Arts majors. During the quarter every student committed to learning and sharing their unique experiences with DEIBA. What they taught me is that every generations embarks on their own journey of self-discovery and acceptance for things not considered a “mainstream.” I am proud to be part of their academic journey as well as their pursuits to change the world one meal at a time.
Kudos to Tristen Gilson, Rhema Grogan, Draven Heim, Gracie Jablonski, Eric Kincaid, V Millner, Ashton Monroe for completing the Microaggressions & Unconscious/Implicit Bias and Cultural Competence in the Classroom training sessions. They will make a significant contributions in the culinary field.
